Reiki Healing for Animals
Any animal can benefit from Reiki - no matter how large or small, whether a domestic, farm or zoo animal, they all have emotional and physical needs that can be helped.

Reiki healing
I work at a pace that your animal is comfortable with and use either a hands-on or hands-off approach. I balance his or her energy system and use the Reiki energy to specifically heal any physical or emotional issues that come to light during the session.
I use intuition and mind-work to communicate with the animal during the treatment and can treat wherever you animal is most at ease - it is important that s/he feels safe and able to relax.
Remote Reiki healing
Remote healing works on the ancient principle that we are all connected - we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole. It is a beautiful way to heal and animals are very receptive to it as they understand how energy works in this way.
I tend to get more in the way of communication from the animal when treating remotely. It is useful for treating animals who find unfamiliar humans unsettling and who that are too far away for me to travel to.
How can Reiki help animals?
Animals generally enjoy Reiki, becoming relaxed and even sleepy. It can give your pet a feeling of contentment and calm as well as helping to heal any physical, emotional or psychological issues that may have arisen. It is totally non-threatening so even nervous and people-shy animals tend to accept it happily. It is suitable for animals at all stages of life.
Animals are much more in tune with the energy and rhythms of the earth than we are and tend not to resist the powerful, but gentle, energy of Reiki - they find it comforting and accept it gratefully. They will often move their bodies to the area that they instinctively know needs the energy most. As they are so open to the energy the benefits are often very noticeable.

What to expect
Incorporated into the first treatment session I use an analysis of your animal's physical and psychological wellbeing, his or her lifestyle, activities, nutrition and any other factors that you believe are important, so that your pet's life can be looked at from a holistic point of view.
Reiki is a very gentle, though powerful, treatment and I am always guided by each animal as to how much to offer and how to pace the session. Animals usually need a few breaks to absorb the treatment during a session and will let me know when to restart by asking me. It can be hands on or hands off - whichever your animal prefers. There is no difference in the effect of the treatment.
It is quiet and peaceful - I sit with the animal and tune in to them and their energy and use the Reiki and intuition to guide me. When handling animals I communicate with them as much as possible with breathing, energy and mind-work, which they recognise and are comfortable with.
Reiki can be used where other therapies are sometimes not possible, if the animal cannot be touched, for example, or has has his or her trust in humans broken. It doesn't require touch and has the additional benefit of helping the animal to trust humans again whilst healing and clearing. This is one of the reasons that it is often used in rescue centres where animals may be recovering from mistreatment or neglect.

Pet and owner sessions
These can be hugely beneficial for the pet-human relationship. Our wellbeing affects our animals and vice versa and this is a beautiful way to achieve sustainable healing for you both. Please do ask me if you are interested in these sessions. They can either be held at your home or, once I've met you and your pet has had their session, you could have your session at my therapy room in central Sevenoaks.
